On another note, Ann M. Martin’s books were such a huge part of my childhood. Seeing a new generation of students enjoy her characters by reading the classic editions and the new graphic novels has been such a joy.

I just wanted to say WOW!! The assortment of books is amazing and will fit the needs of both of the programs we are trying to create the lending libraries for. There are a number of resource books that will be amazing for our youth with disabilities.

…I wanted to say I am almost in tears processing these books to get them ready for the kids. The first box I opened had the Spanish/English dictionary. Just that day I had a bilingual kiddo whose parents are from Ecuador help me with some Spanish words in a book about a DACA Dreamer that I was reading to her class. Just in that class, I also have kiddos with family from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. My student Wendy had asked me before I got the books if she could she get a book to read with her mom and she was so excited when I showed her the book. Also, there was a book that had Creole words in it. Our biggest school population is from Cape Verde and Haiti which both speak a form of Creole.
These are like the biggest boxes of candy for me!!!!!!!

All I can say is WOW! The books donated were beautiful, well-known books in pristine condition! When I brought them back to the office, the staff said “these are brand new! We never get new books for the kids!” I’m really grateful to you and feel lucky we met!

To The Lisa Libraries,
This is my fourth year as a librarian in this school district. The lack of library school funding has had a disproportionately adverse impact on underserved communities like Paterson, NJ. Your generous contribution has already made a positive impact in our library. Your donation will help us to continue to promote literacy and provide our students with the books they need to make reading a part of their daily lives.
My students’ were so excited about actually having popular new books that they have been requesting since last year. These new books helped to replace old damaged books. The books have already sparked a flame in my students to read and LOVE to read. The books are so exciting and full of color.
Our scholars remain excited to discover the latest books in their favorite series. The library/media center is fast becoming their favorite class and for that we thank you. I also thank you for not only caring about our children and their education, but providing us with the resources to ensure that they become 21st Century learners and help better their future.
The benefits of these books are endless and we are truly appreciative of your generosity. Without donors like you, our library would never be funded and my students would continue to do without books that are available to enhance their learning.
Nothing is better than seeing our students eagerly look through our shelves and book baskets and get excited by new titles. I have a great sense of accomplishment in the positive impact these books will make in the lives of our Pre-kindergarten – 8th grade students.
